The ban on photos of the deceased U.S. soldiers as they reenter the country has finally been lifted, putting the decision in the hands of the families and not the government anymore. It’s about damn time. For too long the people here have been shielded from the local and more immediate effects of a war in a place that doesn’t cross most folks mind on a daily basis. The censoring of information, especially in this context, was an awful and unconstitutional thing.
