Every year OU does a one day photo essay called Dawn to Dusk that gets printed in a nice tabloid format and distributed around Athens. There’s also been a web component for the past few years to show all the photos that didn’t get published (along with the ones that did). Myself, Columbus Dispatch designer/illustrator/current Ohio University Knight Fellow Charlie Zimkus, and first year multimedia grad and St. Petersburg (Fla) Times staff photographer Carrie Pratt worked on the design. It’s probably not perfect but we got it done in just a few days and I think it turned out pretty well, especially considering none of us are web designers.

My first actual gallery show was last night in Nelsonville, OH at the Stuart Opera House. A number of folks both strange and familiar came by to look at images by Jim Korpi, Mike DiBari and myself….photos from the forests, farms and gardens of the eastern half of the U.S. for the most part, centering around sustainable forestry for the most part. Thanks for everyone who came, it was a great time. And thanks, of course to the NNFP and Center for Rural Strategies who made the project happen. A really cool idea.
