One of the coolest stories produced as of late, to me, is the Snow Leopard essay by Nat’l Geographic photographer Steve Winter. When I talked to some editors (who were in town to speak last month) about the project they described it as one of the most challenging assignments to have been completed, with a very small number of usable photos to choose from. World Press Photo has their interviews up for their 2008 awards and we get to heard about Winter’s experience first hand. Since the World Press site is flash I can’t link directly to the interview but click here or on the photo below and check out Winter’s interview (top right corner) and then you can see Roger Cremer’s interview, whose work I also posted about recently. Especially compared to the pictures of coffeeshops and couches im posting lately, this should be a welcome change =).
