In a moment of boredom I was browsing through this year’s World Press Photo winners and I was brought back to a series that interested me initially when I looked at the winners a month or two ago, but one that I didn’t quite “get” at the moment, pretty much because I only fleetingly glanced at the photos and since they were in the Arts and Entertainment section I didn’t spend as much time on them (never generalize!). So I went back to check out this series of images … tourists at Auschwitz by the Netherland’s Roger Cremers, who is now on the list of people who’s work I will try to keep up with. A link to the whole, semi twisted but equally fascinating series is here.
Nothing better than some well done photography that stops and makes you think about yourself, the world around you, and the history that came before you.
