I got the chance to photograph a football game for a client today, and the game happened to be my Alma Mater playing the #1 team in the country. I keep saying I don’t care much about football, but it’s pretty sweet when you see the big men fall. Columbus is an absurd town that is a little too drunk on football in my opinion. I had to barter with a liquor store owner to get parking even remotely close (only like a 1.5 mile walk) to this 105,000 strong attended game. Getting there I had considered leaving sometime in the third quarter if the score was lopsided. I had to stay for the whole thing. It was a long day, but I spent the whole day, the drive and the game, with great people. And me being the weirdo that I am, I couldn’t stand to shoot football how it always looks (which ultimately means I got no really good shots for the newsp
aper, but a few decent ones).
Here are a few of the offbeat images that I like more (most of which abuse the tilt/shift lens.
