This week was a bit of a continuation in reaffirmations that maybe I’m slowly getting a little better even if I don’t always feel like it. I got an award in Illinois’ biggest annual photojournalism contest, and got accepted into my top 2 choices for grad school, and arguably one of the best programs in the country for photojournalism graduate studies….with scholarship dollars to boot.
All of this came as a bit of a surprise, but I’m not complaining and feeling pretty good about the ridiculous amount of time I have put towards photography thus far. Also I am hugely relieved…I can put off looking at peace corps or teaching English abroad cuz my plan A worked out.
Like most weeks I’ve seen some interesting things already…not all uplifting. Here is a photo from the lighter side of things. This girl memorized 101 digits after the decimal point in the non-terminating Pi (3.14……) ..because of this she got to whack her vice principal in the face with none other than some pie.

Congratulations on Grad School! I can relate to the plans A and B, I am currently working on the same plans! It’s funny how people drawn to PJ typically think along the same lines..
Best wishes to you along your path…
