Most people that know me well right now know that I am waiting to hear from grad schools for photography/photojournalism, and offer me a lot of consolation and optimism that I’ll get in to xyz program, cuz I seem to work hard and am obsessed with taking photos etc. etc. etc.. I tell them thank you but I’m still pretty nervous about it, because that doesn’t make me stand apart at all.
Anyone who is a successful photojournalist works hard and is obsessed with taking pictures, probably much more into their job than say, the tax man or your neighborhood grocer. What I think alot of people don’t know is that there are a ton of good photojournalists out there.
I thought I would take this time to post links to other photographers that I think are pretty rad,
starting with my buddy craig watson at the beacon news in Aurora …where I’m interning right now. He is fairly new to the whole field as am I …but just look at his images in editorial. They’re more clever than things I can see. None of these links are for photographers who have been at it for years …these are all people with similar levels of experience (maybe a little more, maybe a little less) than me. Some are still in school, some work for a newspaper but not for more than a few years. So now maybe people can see why I’m nervous about the whole thing.
