This is the second funeral for a soldier I had to shoot. About 6 hours today was spent in my car to get to the funeral home, the burial site, and back home. It was in East Peoria. Upon speaking with a lady that was dealing with press inquiries she had mentioned that the family was actually quite appreciative of the fact that we had driven down there to cover the funeral. Photographing this type of thing, I guess like I mentioned some weeks ago, just makes me a bit uneasy. Knowing the family was happy we were there and appreciated and understood my purpose for being there made me rest a little easier. Like I have said before, though this is a common occurence (quite sadly) they must be kept track of, for the family and the community and for future family members.
