I try to look for interesting things when I shoot football games. Usually, before the game starts, I have a solid 4 minutes of evening twilight to possibly work with some sort of subject and try to not get any sort of clutterness in the background. This Friday I might have 3 minutes of light, if it stops raining all the time.
